Starting January 1, 2010, The CEC (California Energy Comission) 2008 Standards go in effect Download Here which require "Hers Rating" to take place on any new construction on or after 1/1/2010 at various stages of the construction process.
This is done with the idea of making building of houses energy effecient. The California Hers Rater is a very important part of the process and is considered a "special inspector". There are only 3 authorized "providers" in California, theses are "Calcerts, Cheers, and CBPCA (California Bulding Contractors Association). A California Hers Rater is trained and watched over by one of the three providers.
Here you will find a list of HERS Raters in good standing with the "California Hers Rater Association". Much like the Better Buisness Bureau this is a voluntary membership and is not manditated by any of the providers. |
